Brno
Brno is a vibrant university city in the Czech Republic – in the heart of Europe, perfectly placed between Vienna and Prague. Fast cross-border and domestic rail connections make it easy to reach: direct trains link Brno to Vienna (≈ 1 h 30–40 min) and Prague
(≈ 2 h 30–40 min) several times a day. Brno’s compact center is walkable and supported by an excellent tram and bus network.

- Modernist icon: Villa Tugendhat (Mies van der Rohe) is Brno’s UNESCO World Heritage site and a global landmark of functionalist architecture. Tours book out well in advance.
- Mendel’s legacy: Gregor Johann Mendel conducted his groundbreaking genetics research at the Augustinian Abbey, today home to the Mendel Museum and an active program celebrating his work. Galadinner will take place there.
